I used to see the Luther Tucker Band play at Gulliver's in Noth Beach. He was an unforgettable blues man. When he passed away, I was in shock. I told several friends about his passing and they didn't know who he was. It seemed such a shame that he didn't have the name recognition the he deserved. A while after his death, he finally got some recogniton beyond us blues fans when the Sunday Chronicle ran a comprehensive article about him and all the well known Blues musicians he played with. It was a well done article and correctly stated that he should have been so much better known as an imortant blues man. I'll never forget his talent. Ever.

Even 11,000 miles around the world here in Western Australia, Luther Tucker is probably recognised as being one of the foremost electric guitar players of his kind. The fact that he was a blues guitar player is even more special. Feeling, tone & rhythm was Luther Tucker's forte. I'm so glad that light-gauge strings were never used back in the fifties. Very few guitarists sound like that these days. Luther Tucker's playing is timeless.
